 The Lion Ledger: 04/19/2026

Families,

This upcoming Tuesday, April 21, our 8th grade class and staff chaperones will depart Bexley, Ohio, for the nation’s capital and return Friday evening, April 24. We have a wonderful itinerary that reflects nearly a year of planning. A special thanks to our PTO for their incredible support in fundraising. I’d also like to thank our chaperones as well as Mrs. Michelle Rowley-Welsch and Mrs. Maria Zeman, two of our department chairs and grade-level team leaders, who have once again organized a wonderful plan for 8th-grade students unable to attend the DC trip. I will share an additional communication this evening with 8th-grade families and students ahead of our DC trip.

I’d like to send a friendly reminder about student cell phones and watches. Parents and/or guardians have until 3:45 p.m. to pick up their child’s cell phone and watch from the middle school main office when they are dropped off by middle school staff members.

Finally, we recently hosted our 2nd annual Middle School Multicultural Fair! Last year, during our inaugural year, we had about 30 student presenters. This past Friday, we had nearly 70 student presenters share their family histories and cultural heritage, representing more than 30 nations. A special thank you to our social studies teachers for their support of this opportunity. All middle school students had an opportunity to visit the fair through their social studies classes and to participate in class reflections. Kudos to our student presenters and to the families who provided support. I enjoyed hearing our students’ stories and histories. I also enjoyed seeing the range of family and cultural recipes on display.

Let’s go, Lions!

ALLERGY SEASON REQUEST TO PARENTS - FROM OUR CS COMPLEX CLINIC TEAM:

As we move into allergy season, many students begin to experience symptoms such as sneezing, congestion, itchy eyes, and fatigue, which can impact their comfort and ability to focus in school. We kindly ask that parents be mindful of these seasonal allergies and, when appropriate, administer allergy medications at home before the school day begins.  This ensures your child starts the day feeling their best and minimizes disruptions to their learning. Thank you for keeping our students healthy and ready to learn.
