  • Students are only to report to the building when they have an an assessment. To preserve a quiet testing environment, students are not permitted to wait in the hallways or make excessive noise as they leave.
  • Students will not be released before the end of the exam time. Teachers may release students at any time during the teacher directed time based on the class or individual task completion.
  • Teachers will notify students if their class period will utilize the teacher directed time.
  • If students should become very ill during the week, contact your teachers right away. There is a make-up assessment period at the end of the week and it will help teachers plan for your makeup if you contact them as soon as possible. Not completing an assessment before the last day of the quarter could impact your eligibility for extra curricular activities for next quarter.

  • Seniors are exempt from second semester final end-of-semester activities, unless the passage of the activity is required to earn course credit. Updates to Columbus State College Credit Plus Application and Registration

NEW C STATE STUDENTSColumbus State - CCP Application: Application and Workday Info

  • Follow the prompts on the page to create your account and complete your application.

RETURNING C STATE STUDENTS: You will also need access to Workday. This information should come to your C State student email account. Please ensure you are checking your C State student email for the most up-to-date information about Workday, your registrations, etc.

Critical Changes:

  • Students will be responsible for uploading their registration forms to Workday. You will need to plan ahead to meet with your counselor to complete the form and ensure you have enough time to upload.
  • You will need to be prepared to stay on top of documents in your account, as counselors are no longer the ones uploading registration forms.
  • If you are a senior planning to apply for Comp I or Comp II after AP Lang, you will need to have your registration form ready for the school counselor prior to your departure for summer (May 29th). Once you receive your AP score in July, it is your responsibility to email your score report to your counselor for Composition course verification. Your counselor will verify your course and return the registration form signed via email.
    • If you wait until you return in August to apply and register, there will most likely not be many seats available. To ensure you get a seat in your course, it is critical that you are applied, accepted, and have your updated registration form to your counselor prior to summer break (May 29). You will also need to upload it quickly once returned by the counselor. Again, it is your responsibility to upload this form into Workday.

Note that any questions regarding the application, the Workday portal, or C State should be directed to the CCP Advisor. If you need assistance with the application process, please contact CCP@cscc.edu.

Keep an eye on your C State email to ensure you are aware of any updates to this process.

Thank you! BHS Counselors

Counselors Corner - Study Skills and Habits

As spring approaches, many students are preparing for testing. Whether you are taking an Advanced Placement test, an End of Course exam, or an Ohio State Test, studying is often involved. Studying can take a significant amount of time and feel very frustrating. The counselors have created some tips for better study skills and habits to ease your stress.

  • Utilize a planner or other calendar to ensure you know your test dates. You are able to plan ahead better this way.
  • Develop a consistent study schedule leading up to your exam. Ensure that you are balancing time studying with other homework and extracurricular commitments.
  • Study in small increments. If you study in smaller parts daily, you are more likely to retain the information. Trying to memorize large quantities of information at once is not effective.
  • Take breaks! Giving yourself brain breaks can help with mental fatigue. For every half hour you study, give yourself a few minutes to relax.
  • Practice studying in different formats. Try flashcards, writing things out, note reviews, etc. Different methods of studying work better for different people and different subjects.
  • Attend office hours if you have questions while studying.

Wishing you all the best on your spring tests! If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your counselor!

Summer School Updates & Enrollment Deadlines

As we finalize our 2026 Summer Session, we want to provide an update on course availability. Some of our most popular offerings are nearly full, while others need a few more students to ensure they can run as scheduled.

Courses Needing Enrollment

To ensure these courses are held, we need to meet minimum enrollment numbers by Friday, April 24th:

  • Online Personal Finance & Online Health: These are on the cusp! Perfect for students looking to clear their school-year schedules.
  • Physical Education: Currently at risk of cancellation. We need a significant surge in enrollment to keep this session on the calendar.
  • HS College Application & Essay Writing (Afternoon): A senior favorite taught by Dr. Michelle Rogers. Plenty of space remains for rising seniors.

Limited Space / Full Courses

  • The Cold War (Mr. Featherstone): Only 1 seat remaining!
  • Historical Case Studies: FULL
  • HS College Application & Essay Writing (Morning): FULL

Here is a link to the 2026 Summer Session Registration Form and the Course Catalog

Important Dates:

  • Minimum enrollment deadline for summer courses: Friday, April 24th
  • Class confirmation will be communicated to parents/guardians: Week of April 27th
  • Final day for families to register for courses: Friday, May 29th
  • Final day to request refund: Friday, May 15th

Clinic Update

As we move into allergy season, many students begin to experience symptoms such as sneezing, congestion, itchy eyes, and fatigue, which can impact their comfort and ability to focus in school. We kindly ask that parents be mindful of these seasonal allergies and, when appropriate, administer allergy medications at home before the school day begins.  This ensures your child starts the day feeling their best and minimizes disruptions to their learning. Thank you for keeping our students healthy and ready to learn.
