  • Students will not be released before the end of the exam time. Teachers may release students at any time during the teacher directed time based on the class or individual task completion.
  • Teachers will notify students if their class period will utilize the teacher directed time.
  • If students should become very ill during the week, contact your teachers right away. There is a make-up assessment period at the end of the week and it will help teachers plan for your makeup if you contact them as soon as possible. Not completing an assessment before the last day of the quarter could impact your eligibility for extra curricular activities for next quarter.
  • Planned absences for any part of assessment week must be submitted by Friday, May 15 (students complete form here). Not completing an assessment before the last day of the quarter could impact your eligibility for extra curricular activities for next quarter.
  • Students who completed their standardized AP test are exempt from the teacher-created final end-of-semester activity or exam for the course. This exemption is not available for students in danger of failing the course.
  • Seniors are exempt from second semester final end-of-semester activities, unless the passage of the activity is required to earn course credit. Counseling Update for 2026-2027 School Year

We are excited to announce some changes for the upcoming school year that we believe will best serve our students as they progress through middle and high school. In this model students will have three counselors during their 6-12 career, each focused on a unique developmental stage.

The role of the school counseling program is to support students in their academic, social-emotional, and career development. In particular, we want students to leave Bexley Schools with an understanding of how they learn, what they value, how to make healthy decisions, what talents and interests they have, and how all these attributes align to their lives after high school.

Middle School Counselors

6-8th grade

Assigned by student last name

  • David Leland, A-K
  • Tara Louys, L-Z

Students will begin to build a relationship with their Middle School Counselors in the Spring of their 5th grade year at the Rising 6th grade visit to the middle school. Bexley Middle School Counselors help all students in the areas of academic achievement, social/emotional development, and career readiness, ensuring today's students become prepared for high school.

High School Counselors

9-10th grade

Assigned by student last name

  • Sarah Busold, A-K
  • Sara Revetta, L-Z

Students will first interact with their High School Counselors while learning about the scheduling process during January / February of their 8th grade year. The 9/10 Counselors will focus on the transition into high school, developing healthy habits, identifying resources for success, and exploring what opportunities exist for their 9-12 career both at Bexley High School and at Eastland-Fairfield Career Center.

College & Career Counselors

11-12th grade

Assigned by student last name

  • Casey Teeters, A-K & Class of 2027 A- Le
  • Stephanie Krosnosky, L-Z & Class of 2027 Li-Z

Students will begin working with their College & Career Counselors at the start of Junior year.  While their counselor will still support their academic and social emotional development over the last two years of high school, much more of the focus will be on identifying and preparing for post graduation opportunities whether that is college, career, or military.

Be advised that this update significantly changes the process for CCP enrollment. The responsibility of applying and registering for course work shifts directly to the student. This is including but not limited to obtaining required signatures and uploading all required course registration forms which was formerly the responsibility of the high school staff.

If you are planning to take a CCP class through Columbus State next school year, please read here.
