Please Verify Your Student’s Return for ‘25-‘26 School Year!

Many Families Still Need to Complete Student Verification Process

Parents/guardians, we need your prompt attention to complete the online Student Verification Process for your student for this coming school year (if you have not done so already). We are still awaiting information on about 1/3 of our students.

The deadline for this critical verification has now passed and failure to complete this quick process greatly disrupts our planning processes for the beginning of school.

Please check your email promptly for a message from powerschoolemail@bexley.us specifically about your child's student verification. This email contains a link specific to your student.

If you do not see the email from powerschoolemail@bexley.us, please check your spam or junk folders. If you still believe you have not received the message, please notify us immediately by sending an email to pam.moenter@bexley.us.

Thank you for your immediate attention to this important matter.

Bexley Schools has a new website and new web address! You can now find the district and school websites at Bexley.us (https://www.bexley.us).

What’s Unique to the New Site?

  • All pages have three “sticky” links on the right side of the screen so you have easy access to certain info. They include the 2025-2026 school year calendar; school menus; and a direct link back to the district homepage.
  • The district homepage and each school homepage have quick links unique to popular logins or information for each school.
  • Web content can be translated into other languages. Simply click on “Translate” in the top right header to set a different language. Please note that only content can be translated. PDF documents or images with words cannot be translated.
  • The website also features an AudioEye in the bottom left of the screen. Viewers in need of added screen options can change the contrast and color, spacing, text size and more. Click on the blue circle AudioEye logo to change your viewing settings.

Other Notes

  • Parents/guardians, we encourage you to review our Required Notices section each year. The federal and state Departments of Education mandate this information to be on our website.
  • Please note that since our new website was built under a new domain name, the file structure is different than the old website. Therefore, you will need to reset any bookmarks you may have created.

Take a look and send comments to info@bexley.us. While every effort was made to ensure all links are working, please notify us if you find an inactive link.

Students to Have Staggered Start to School Year

For the second straight year, Bexley Schools are implementing a staggered start to begin the school year.

Thursday, Aug. 14

Bexley students in the following grades only will attend all day:

  • Grades 1-5 at all elementary schools;
  • 6th graders at Bexley Middle School;
  • 9th graders at Bexley High School; and
  • Partial roster of kindergarten students at each elementary school.

Friday, Aug. 15

  • All students in grades 1-12 will attend classes all day
  • Partial roster of kindergarten students at each elementary school.

There will be intentional orientation and acclimation activities and less-crowded environments to help set up our kindergarten, 6th grade, and 9th grade students for success as they transition to new schools.

Monday, Aug. 18

  • All students, kindergarten through 12th grade, attend.

Kindergarten Students

With half of kindergarten students in attendance each of the first two days, kindergarteners will experience their new classes and schools in small groups. Families of incoming kindergarten students will receive an email notification of their student’s start date.

Bexley Middle School & High School

Classes begin on Thurs., Aug. 14, for middle and high school students entering 6th and 9th grades only. Students in these transitional grades will attend a full school day, 8:35 a.m. - 3:24 p.m., and will be involved in activities to help them transition to a new school. Students will attend an abbreviated version of their schedule and all students should plan to remain on campus for lunch on this day.

Application Open for Assistance with Cost of School Meals

Families in need of assistance with the cost of school meals are encouraged to apply for free meals. The USDA’s eligibility requirements for free or reduced-price school meals are income-based and families must apply for assistance each school year.

It’s important to note that Bexley Schools provide free school meals to any student whose family is eligible for reduced-price meals.

If you believe your family may benefit from this program, please complete the application. The application and instructions are on the BSCD Food & Nutrition page and linked in the buttons below. Please contact Food Services Director Julianna Carvi if you need assistance or have questions regarding the application process.

Students to See New Lunch Menu Options This School Year

Bexley Schools is proud of its Food Services operations, led by director Julianna Carvi, who has been with the school district for 11 years. Under her direction, the department won a Healthy Meals Incentive Award from the U.S. Department of Agriculture a year ago for its work providing more scratch menu items.

Now in the final year of a three-year plan to improve the nutrition value of school meals and be able to offer more scratch-made lunch items, Ms. Carvi announced an overhaul to Bexley’s lunch service options for the upcoming school year.

What’s New?

  • More scratch-made lunch items
  • Will Include a hot-lunch option, big-salad option, and gluten-free fruit and yogurt parfait
  • Big-salad option is new and will consist of an ounce of cheese, ounce of turkey ham, whole grain roll, milk, and daily fruit. Students will be expected to go to the veggie bar to add fresh lettuce and other fresh vegetables for their salad
  • Students can forego the whole grain roll for a second gluten-free option

Elementary Schools

  • No sales of snacks or drinks to kindergarteners or 1st graders
  • Students in grades 2 – 5 will be permitted to buy 2 additional items each day (i.e., a drink and a snack; two snacks, but no drink).
  • Parents/guardians can request their students take meals only, with no snack purchases permitted. Contact Julianna Carvi to add restrictions to your child’s account.

Middle & High School Options

  • Daily cheese pizza, two hot entrees, sandwiches, wraps, and big salads
  • There will be no daily chicken tender option
  • Annie’s Frozen Yogurt will be available

School Meal Prices Hold Steady for Second Year

The cost of school lunches holds steady for the 2025-2026 school year! Prices are:

• Breakfast: $2.65*
• Elementary Lunch: $3.70
• Middle School Lunch: $3.95
• High School Lunch: $3.95
• Adult Lunch: $4.95

*The district’s universal free breakfast program will be offered this coming school year.

Join the Bexley Education Foundation for Coffee to Start the School Year

Families, mark your calendar! The Bexley Education Foundation invites parents/guardians to stop by The Lion for a free small coffee on Thurs., Aug. 14, between 8 and 9:15 a.m. The Lion is located at 2511 E. Main St. in downtown Bexley.

Bicycles, Scooters NOT Permitted on School Turf Fields or Tennis Courts

Families, please stress with your children that no bicycles or scooters are permitted on any school artificial turf surfaces or on the tennis courts! We currently are experiencing a problem with students ignoring the signs around our outdoor facilities. These can damage our ground facilities, and create a significant cost to repair them.

Strict Guidelines in Effect for Fans Attending Events in Bexley Athletic Venues

Like last school year, Bexley Schools has stringent admittance guidelines for admission to all athletic events hosted at our athletic venues. These guidelines are effective now and will be enforced beginning with scrimmages. You may see the full list of guidelines online.

The new procedures include, but are not limited to the following:

  • An adult must accompany elementary students or younger children to gain entrance into an athletic contest, and the adult must supervise the students they take to an athletic event.
  • Backpacks or bags will only be permitted if the bag’s contents are required for a designated purpose (i.e., medical equipment bags, diaper bags, camera bags). In such instances bags will be searched before being allowed into the venue.
  • Small purses no larger than 5”x8”x1” will be permitted. Purses larger than this size will not be allowed.
  • Fans, including students, are NOT permitted to have footballs or basketballs (small or large) within venues; balls or other equipment will be confiscated and returned at the end of the event.
  • Prohibited spectator items include bottled or canned beverages, tobacco, drones, vaping and alcohol products, noise makers, athletic equipment, or any item deemed dangerous or disruptive by the site managers.
  • Facial coverings, such as ski masks, scarves, and bandanas covering the face, must be removed at admittance but are permitted within all athletic venues. Religious facial coverings such as the burqa and niqab are exempt from this rule.
  • Protective facial coverings, such as masks designed to contain droplets and particles you breathe, cough, or sneeze, must be removed at admittance but are permitted within all athletic venues.

Students, parents/guardians, and fans are encouraged to allow extra time to enter an athletic venue prior to the event’s starting time.
