Enrollment

Parents/guardians should upload these required documents with the online registration. They will be maintained at your child's school:

• Child’s original birth certificate or other evidence of birth;
  • How to Order a Birth Certificate in Ohio
• Certified copy of any child custody order or decree;*
• Written evidence of required immunizations (or written evidence to indicate in process of receiving immunizations to be completed no later than the first day of school);**
• Completed rental, lease, or proof of ownership, including contact information for verification,  i.e., tax bill, mortgage payment or county auditor property information (All rental agreements must include new enrollees in addition to their parent/guardian);
• Utility receipt or utility deposit receipt for one of the four: gas, sewage, water, or electricity;
• Driver’s license or state-issued ID reflecting Bexley address. (If an ID does not reflect a current Bexley address, a Voter Registration Form must be completed.)

* If applicable, provide Court-placed or foster care documentation.

**The district maintains an immunization record for each student. Students failing to complete immunizations within 14 days after attending are not permitted to return to school.

2025-2026 Kindergarten Registration

Bexley offers all-day kindergarten for all students who will turn 5 years old by the first day of instructional classes each school year. A recent change in Ohio law modifies the kindergarten cut-off date to coincide with each district’s first day of classes. Consequently, the cut-off date for kindergarten will be different each year and may be different by school district.

For the 2026-2027 school year, children enrolling in kindergarten must turn 5 years old by Thursday, Aug. 13, which is the first day of classes in Bexley Schools.

Early entrance to kindergarten for children who turn five after August 1 in the year of enrollment may be a way to meet the needs of the exceptional child who is both academically and developmentally mature when compared with other children of the same age.

Ohio law requires districts to evaluate a child for early entrance upon request of the parent/guardian. Early entrance to kindergarten is considered a whole grade acceleration and few children meet the requirements for early entrance. 

For current Bexley residents, applications for early entrance may be submitted starting in January and by the end of March. Families are encouraged to make child care arrangements in the event the child is not admitted based on results of the evaluation process. Please review the information provided and, if applicable, complete the application and submit it to the elementary principal of your child’s prospective school.
