Building Teams

The work of our building teams kicked off in February 2024, with an in-person meeting for each school. The meetings included building tours and a review of the team process. Meetings continued during the summer of 2024 with virtual and in-person meetings.
A Building Team Summit on Monday, November 18, 2024 was attended by members of all building teams received updates and provided input on building recommendations, including newly revised building options and the possibilities that could be included in a Phase 1 budget.
Each Building Team met in person on either August 20 or 21. Perkins & Will architects reviewed revised options for buildings during each meeting and presented a new concept for the Cassingham Complex. Each Building Team also discussed the possible cost associated with the facilities upgrades, including how the school district might address financing the projects.
Building teams met virtually on either July 9 or 10. Perkins & Will architects reviewed revised options for buildings during each meeting. Building team members also learned the possible cost associated with each option.
During the meetings on May 14 and 15, 2024, Building Team members reviewed the initial options for their respective building, as presented by architects from Perkins & Will. Following initial discussions, Building Team members went to the online Miro Board application to share opinions and feedback of the initial building options.
Each Building Team met the second time in virtual meetings on April 2-4, 2024. After a general presentation during each meeting, team members worked in small groups using the online application Miro to consider answers to the following questions:
1. In what ways are the facilities failing to meet the expectations and needs of all stakeholders now and in the future?
2. What facility changes need to occur to align with the district's educational mission?
3. What do you perceive as sacred as it pertains to buildings or the district’s facilities?
