Tom Bates is the Interim Director of Employee Relations & Human Resources for Bexley Schools. With more than 40 years in education, he has a wealth of experience in the classroom, as an instructional coach, and a building principal. He also has considerable experience in curriculum development, professional development, hiring and onboarding. Mr. Bates began his career as a classroom teacher in Dublin City Schools. He later served as Director of Elementary Learning in Upper Arlington City Schools and was an elementary school principal in four Central Ohio school districts. He holds a Master of Education Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Early & Middle Childhood Education.
